Only harmonica and a little guitar..haha
I really want to learn to play the banjo and harp ala Joanna newsom:)..Both my brother and sister are great at guitar and natural musicians and artists so I always have a hard time because I'm always comparing myself to them, My brother is in the film industry and I am always surrounded by people more talented artistic and beautiful than me..haha so I need to get over my insecurities suck it up and start learning to play something.
I dont think it's ever to late to start playing an instrument..and you're obviously already musically inclined or at least you know what good music is, I'm sure you can start learning how to play right now if you wanted to :)

That's what I was thinking until I saw them in WA..I think they usually have a problem with drinking too much before the shows. I always kind of liked the fleet foxes but not as much as I do since seeing them play live..I swear to god I had a near religious experience Just floating around on the heavenly melodys. My favorite song by them is White Winter Hymnal, I especially like them after I have smoked a little mary jane. Yeah Cease to begin did not really impress me as much as the first album, and as generic as this sounds The Funeral is what really made them a staple to me..although it really bothered me when I heard it playing on some car commercial..bleh I hate that.
Deerhunter is pretty good I really like Lake somerset.
I know what you mean about switching between hard and soft, I was into really loud rock for most of my melodramatic young teenage hood though so lately I mostly have been going for the melodic carried by lyrics kind of stuff..mainly why mountain goats are one of my favorites I love how John can just sit down with a guitar and come out with something like 'Jenny ' or No children.
Are you a fan of okkervil river?
Or The Notwist?
Havent heard of Magic markers or The hospitals I'll have to check them out.

I have read John Darnielles and Neutral milk hotels..but more soon!
And I am wowed someone on her knows who John Darnielle and Dan Bejar are.
I recently saw destroyer live in LA and they bombed..it was terrible they were all completely drunk and the music was terrible..the mic was fucked up and so you could not even hear Dan singing..I was really upset..until I flew back to my home state for the sasquatch festival and saw them play there it was amazing and brought back all my faith in Mr. Bejar! He is such a genius, I have yet to see the mountain goats live..
So Mr Cookie monster, Do you like the fleet foxes? or Beirut by any chance?
