Anyway, I didn't catch any of the episodes, but Shannon Elizabeth was recently booted from Dancing with Stars...

On April 29th 2008, Shannon became the seventh star eliminated from the competition. The elimination came one week after Elizabeth and Hough criticized the judges for marking them down for a lack of hip action while couples with "heel leads", "feet coming off the floor", and "horrific, demented lines" received higher scores. Karina Smirnoff Takes a Swipe at Shannon Elizabeth's Ploy for Votes

"With our new 'strategy' we are doing it for fun now and for the audience," Derek added. "With our new 'outlook', I think it's going to go down a lot better. We're like, if they want kisses, we'll give them kisses!"

If it was a ploy for votes, well, it didn't work, seeing as they were eliminated this Tuesday. Professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, herself in the gossip headlines about her relationship with season 3 celebrity dancer Mario Lopez, weighed in on Shannon and Derek's little game.

"If it's a strategy, it's not a good one," Karina Smirnoff told In Touch. "Everyone knows that Shannon was dating a schoolteacher when the season started. You've both got to be young, hot and single in order for people to want you together. Their relationship will get them publicity, but that doesn't mean it'll get them votes." Source

Shannon Elizabeth Suspicious Of Elimination

The 34 year-old actress, in tow with rumored beau and DWTS dance partner Derek Hough, told a TMZ cameraman Wednesday night, “I don’t think it’s the fans decision, to tell you the truth. The fans were great. The fans were behind us.”

When asked by the reporter if she thought the show’s producers, “had it out for her” Elizabeth responded, “I’m not saying that…I think it’s something else even bigger.”

With Shannon and Marissa Jaret Winokur in the bottom two, it wasn’t much of a surprise who was out. The judges love Miss Marissa’s spunk, while Shannon’s “I did the hips!” snit-fit last week after her bad reviews was like buying a ticket to Kicked-off Town.

“Wait for the music,” Shannon snapped at her partner, Derek Hough, when their departure was announced. She called him a friend for life. He called her a big dork. They hugged and called it a day. Will the showmance last? Oh, probably until they return for a guest appearance at the finale. Source
