Duchovny and Anderson do contribute an atypically fascinating lead movie couple. Both actors wear their familiar roles comfortably, and Anderson is expecially compelling and affecting.

The film has been skillfully crafted and imaginatively plotted. The problem is that the story itself fails to generate much in the way of either emotional involvement or intellectual curiosity. It just kind of plays itself out, its resolution neither terribly insinuating nor satisfying in and of itself.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe is an absorbing but underachieving supernatural thriller about the provocatively unexplained. As for that that subtitle: Wanted to. Tried to. Couldn't. Not quite. Source

Gillian Anderson Does May, 2008 Maxim! What The Hell?!

I love X-Files & Gillian Anderson, but is the world running out of Maxim-quality hotties or what?

Then again, this layout real motivation is to help market Gillian's new movie, The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Here's more on the upcoming flick:
Due to the highly secretive nature of the project, the studio has released very little information about the film's plot. The producers have only revealed that it will take place six years after the events of the series.[3] It is also known that, unlike the first film, the plot will not focus on the series' ongoing "mythology" and will instead be a standalone thriller/horror story, similar to many of the "monster-of-the-week" episodes that were frequently seen in the TV series.

In an interview published March 27, 2008, Carter stated that the film would be consistent with the entire X-Files story arc, as Scully's child William would "not go unconsidered" in the film, and that it "takes place in the present and uses a story envisioned when the series ended".

Photos of Duchovny and Anderson embracing and kissing appeared on Internet fan sites in early March 2008, fueling speculation about a romantic subplot between their characters. Duchovny dismissed the rumors and described the kiss as a practical joke, adding, "We staged that."

Despite the secrecy of the film's plot, the summary of the official novelization of the film has already been released and it reveals details of the film's plot. [Wiki]

Bastardly Mercado Don't: Gillian Anderson Drinks a Frap

Did you know some fraps from Starbucks have more calories than a Big Mac?!
A 20-ounce venti Banana Mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream contains 720 calories and 11 grams of fat. That's more calories than a McDonald's Big Mac.

But some customers CBS 5 talked to in San Jose say sometimes the taste is worth the risk.

"All the drinks have a lot of sugar in them, but they're good," said one person. 'I'm young, and I'm not worried about me over my weight." [CBS 5]
