America Ferrera: Shows Like 'Gossip Girl' Hurt Female Relationships
America Ferrera told Seventeen magazine that TV shows like "The Hills" and "Gossip Girl" help fuel hostile relationships between females, Us magazine reported.

"Close, genuine female relationships are not what generally gets depicted in movies and TV shows," the "Ugly Betty" star told Seventeen. "Like, if you're watching "The Hills" or "90210", all the backstabbing shapes the way we act – you go to school, and you think your job is to find a sworn enemy and be jealous of each other." These were snapped @ 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2'' NY Premiere

Hot America Ferrera and Blake Lively happily return to cool
What a difference three years makes for the four-member cast of the Sisterhood. Call it the switcheroo.

During the original 2005 movie version of the popular Ann Brashares book The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Alexis Bledel was high profile thanks to the series Gilmore Girls while Amber Tamblyn made a name for herself in TV’s Joan Of Arcadia. America Ferrera and Blake Lively were fresh-faced newcomers.

Now Bledel and Tamblyn have finished their shows and are under the radar just as Ferrera is television famous as the title character in Ugly Betty and Lively shines in the ensemble of young actors on the hit teen show Gossip Girl.

At New York’s Regency Hotel Sunday, all four agreed that the good news is their group chemistry remains the same for the sequel The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, which opens on Aug. 6. [National Post]

More about the movie:
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 2005 film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.[1] Directed by Sanaa Hamri, the original cast (America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel and Blake Lively) will star in the sequel, and although using some storylines from The Second Summer of the Sisterhood and Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood, the film is based around the fourth novel in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood. The film is rated PG-13. [Wiki]

Bastardly Would You? Ugly Betty Gets Silly-Stringed

America Ferrera on set as "Ugly Betty" yesterday in NYC.

And the Wiki says...
America Georgina Ferrera (born April 18, 1984) is an award winning American actress.

She landed the lead role in Ugly Betty in 2006. Ugly Betty is an adaptation of the Colombian hit telenovela Betty La Fea, in which she portrays a girl whom her peers find extremely unattractive, thus the series title. As Betty Suarez, Ferrera wears braces, has bushy eyebrows and a disheveled wig, and make-up and clothing intended to downplay her own looks. Ferrera’s famous smile is reportedly insured by Lloyd's of London for $10 million.[2] It’s in contrast to the rest of the show, where everybody else is glammed up”, adding that it was Ferrera herself who coined the term “Bettification” to describe the process.

For her role in Ugly Betty, Ferrera won the 2007 Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical, beating out fellow nominees Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Mary-Louise Parker. As a result of the award, she was congratulated by the U.S. House of Representatives as being a role model for young Hispanics.[4] On 28 January 2007 Ferrera won the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series. She also starred in and executive produced the poignant short film Muertas.

In 2007, Time Magazine chose Ferrera as one of the top artists and entertainers in their “Time 100: The Most Influential People In The World” issue.[5] In July 2007, America Ferrera also won Imagen Foundation’s Creative Achievement Award.[6] On September 16, 2007, Ferrera won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress - Comedy Series for her role of Betty Suarez on ABC’s Ugly Betty. In the summer of 2007, she wrapped filming on the sequel to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. [Wiki]
