MISCHA BARTON - BARTON SNUBS CANNES FILM PREMIERE FOR BASH?Actress MISCHA BARTON snubbed the premiere of her new movie YOU AND I at the Cannes Film Festival in France - reportedly choosing to attend one of the event's lavish parties instead.
The former The O.C. star - who plays a Russian lesbian who falls in love at a t.A.T.u concert in the film - pulled out of her promotional obligations for the film, claiming she was returning home, in an apparent bid to distance herself from the project.
But, while her movie premiered at the glamorous festival this weekend (16-18May08), the 22-year-old was spotted drinking champagne at a nearby bash.
When asked why she was absent from her film's first showing, she told reporters: "I was never due to go." Source

Wow, that's definitely a smart move to make when you're still trying for your big break in movies. There has to be something missing here, no one could be that reckless.
