lol Kayla, you bit off a bit more than you can chew. ^_^ But that doesn't mean you're wrong, and I agree with everything you say. You must be fairly intelligent to have taken psychology or socioligy classes or where ever you learned those large words from. But back to the Harry Potter books and whether or not they are a "drag". They definatly aren't a drag on J.K., Scholastic Press or movie industry. The books and the movies have brought in loads of cash. And I don't think that reading a book in your spare time is bad either. It's not actually a childrens book, it did start that way, but it sort of snowballed into a young adult book. Just like Harry Potter and the kids who grew up with him. It's revolutionary how J.K. featured him as our age in the first book (9 or 10 or so ) and left him at our age again (although there was the whole epilouge thing, but oh well.) I'm 17 now, and I don't think it's wrong for anyone to read a book. If you don't want to read it, don't. I don't approve of drugs and will never use them myself, but I'm not going to stop other people from doing them. (And ruining their lives.) hotpocket, your rebuttles are a bit lacking in backbone. Simply insulting someone is not a great way to prove a point. Perhaps you meant something along the lines of, "I bet someone who does nothing but read books about wicthes and magic, and psychological studies should find a real job and do something productive. How could someone who spends all day reading anyway, know exactly that they are not a drag?!?" Her lifestyle really has nothing to do with her understanding of the economical world. So please lay off and think of something that supports your argument that the Harry Potter books have a negative effect on society. (Though that was pretty funny.) kayla, I tried to read your other post (#53), but all the German words kind've killed it for me. lol But I think I kind've understood it anyway.
Basically, my point is, I don't believe Harry Potter is bad for society and is actually beneficial, and I enjoy reading them. Everyone else can do and say what they want and that's fine. Every man has a right to his own opinion, and every other man has a right to knock him down for it. ^_^
(P.S. And for goodness sake! Leave Emma alone! lol "I think she's not aging well." SHE'S 16! HOW IS SHE SUPPOSED TO AGE? >_
