It's that forehead again! Quick! Somebody please hand me a melon! SPLAT!!

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 4:42pm

pretty girl should not be wearing that much make up.. let it be au naturale

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 4:55pm

Her hair looks like one of those fake tails you put on a wooden donkey after it is finished being carved. Fake boobs I can handle, even though I don't like them a fake tan too, but fake hair is where I draw the line. If it isn't fake it sure looks it, black women should stop straightening their hair and go natural. So many black women portend to be true to their heritage then why try and make your hair like a European?

This is a legitimate question, but I doubt there are too many black women that frequent this site to explain it to me. Granted I am a man so that means I may be missing something when it comes to women (you guys know what I am talking about) but I would really like to know.

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 5:22pm

Caliban:

I'll apologise in advance for harshness, but -

D'you ever ask yourself, for example, why white women can do anything to their hair (curl, straighten, braid) whatever, or their bodies (tan), yet everyone who isn't white is automatically trying to be white when they do these same things?

All women like variation, in hair, clothes, everything. It just shows how narrow-minded, egotistical, and yes, racist, you are to think that any time these black women change something, they're trying to be white. Maybe they're trying to be Asian. Or they simply want something different! A child of five could figure this out.

You can handle fakeness - fake boobs don't bother you. So what's your issue, the fact that they are somehow infringing on a white woman's 'territory'? And since when did all black women have fake hair? Again, it's the same stupid assumptions that show you up.

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 5:48pm

Caliban- I'm not black, but every woman has the right to straighten their hair if they want- but saying that her hair does look a bit false to me. Almost every girl I know with curly hair straightens it now because they think it looks tidier. It's about trying to look your best and vanity, and at the moment long, straight hair is in. I have hair the same length as Rhianna- which is naturally wavy with annoying little afro bits- and it just looks better and shinier when it's straightened.... but it takes forever to do.

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 6:25pm

Just because somebody flattens their hair doesn't mean they want to be white ass clown.Btw, Rihanna's father is Irish.

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 6:35pm

Caliban, you can ask white women why don't they be their natural selves also. Stop pumping their lips, asses, and boobs up, tanning beyond the limit, and except your naturally skinny miss six o'clock pale self.

Honestly...

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 6:38pm

And like white women don't wear fake hair. Everybody does. Why single black women out? They aren't the only ones with kinky hair. Hawaiians, and other Polynesians have it. What you gonna say to them?

Example 1 Fijan women...http://www.janeresture.com/oceania_rls/mataafa_daughter.jpg

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 6:43pm

And no offense...

Why are you singling black women out? You act like they are the only women with naturally kinky hair. Have you seen Hawaiians? Fijans? Some of them even rock weave. Their are white women who wear fake hair also, stop singling out one race.

Polynesian women.

[...] Rhianna’s forehead is still bigger than her side-boob.  (The Bastardly) [...]

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 7:13pm

Well im half swedish, half black, and I have very long hair, and its straight. I bet some of you people here ont he site would assume its fake. By the way black women can grow their hair long, but its harder coz their hair breaks when it gets dry. I know Rihanna's hair is mostly fake though. But if a black owmen has below her shoulders it could be real and straightened, many in my black family side have long hair thats not fake.

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 7:39pm

way to ruin a good post..who the hell argues about whether black women should wear their hair natural or not? take that BS somewhere else...This site becomes boring every single day.

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 7:55pm

Rhianna looks like shit AND I straighten my goddamn hair because I can. It's more manageable. Why on God's green earth would you dumb ass fucks assume black girls straighten their hair to look white??? I can speak for about 98% of black girls and we don't straighten our hair to be white. Why would anyone want to be white in the goddamn first place anyways. I sure as hell don't. Carry on......

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 9:15pm

I dont think black women who straighten there hair want to be white. Or white women who get tans want to be black. Beside's Madonna, Lyv Tyler, Drew Barrymore, Rose Mcgowan and a whole bunch others dont even tan at all. Goth girls hate tans and they are still sexy white women look better without tans. Personally I hate the way suntans look they look stupid to me. MOst white people dont even want suntans. Now its o.k. to plump up your lips but even when white people do that they are NOT trying to be black. Black people have enormous tumor lips believe me no white person wants that. Their butts are enormous and though white woman will work out they dont want enormous butts. Believe me no white person ever wants to resemble a black. And I dont think any black wants to resemble a white either.

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 10:13pm

Straight hair or not Fake hair or not she is just an ugly nasty woman. And her body is ugly too. She is fat and nasty. That is not natural she will drop dead from a heart attack for being so fat. She thinks she is sexy that long, fake hair brings out her ugliness.

Thursday, December 7th, 2006 @ 10:18pm

i guess we should be thankful she slapped on a weave and coat of paint and went to the party...a nice medium side boob should be grafted to her forehead.

Friday, December 8th, 2006 @ 12:29am

ninja - "a nice medium side boob should be grafted to her forehead."

Tee, hee, hee. (LMAO)

Friday, December 8th, 2006 @ 1:06am

@#10- I am black (and mixed.. and I love the Bastardly!...) and will attempt to explain. Going to the shop every 2 weeks- $40-70. Wrapping @ night- 5-10minutes. Conditioning products- $3-30. Styling in the morning- 1hour. Ect, ect.
Getting a weave and having it put in- $40-80. (It can get costly, but you pay for what you get).
It's why models, actresses, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, ect. do it. It looks good and its easier than maintaining your own hair.
Kinda like when people get fake boobs or tans or liposuction. Some people have it nicely done, while others will only be in bad "porn" movies that come on HBO late @ night.

Friday, December 8th, 2006 @ 3:04am

#11 - ""It just shows how narrow-minded, egotistical, and yes, racist, you are to think that any time these black women change something, they’re trying to be white."
I have a feeling no matter what I say people will see it in their own way. Calling me "narrow minded" is a joke that is why I asked for someone to explain it to me so I would understand better. Egotistical only on some subjects and don't confuse confidence with arrogance. Calling me racist is pretty bad seeing as how my best friend at work is from Barbados and I would count him as one of the nicest guys on the face of the planet, someone you can count one in times of need. He has been to my house to hang-out and for dinner on multiple occasions. My wife and son like him, as a person NOT as a black man. He even gets insulted when people call him an African American, and I don't blame him.
You wrote, "any time these black women change something", something is NOT what I said HAIR ONLY. I NEVER said they want to be WHITE I said they want their HAIR to be like Europeans. Don't put words in my mouth. So to you it would have been better if I said, it seems they want their hair like Europeans, South Americans, Canadians, Asians, should I include Eskimos too and every other pocket of humanity who doesn't have to straighten their hair? Saying Europeans seemed like an easy way of covering a big area of the globe that have straight hair.
If you want to insult me fine, but it would be nice if you didn't twist what I said to make your insult sound apt.
Another perfect example, "And since when did all black women have fake hair?" Where in my post did I say all? Oh that's right, NEVER.

#12 - "I’m not black, but every woman has the right to straighten their hair if they want"
I NEVER said they didn't have a "right" to change their hair. To be honest it isn't a right, don't confuse that word with Constitutional "rights", it's their choice to do what they want with their hair and I agree.

#14 - "Caliban, you can ask white women why don’t they be their natural selves also. Stop pumping their lips, asses, and boobs up, tanning beyond the limit, and except your naturally skinny miss six o’clock pale self."
I know why women do those things to their body, vanity.

#15 - "And like white women don’t wear fake hair. Everybody does. Why single black women out?"
I NEVER said why do black women wear fake hair I asked why do they straighten it.

#16/17 - "Why are you singling black women out? You act like they are the only women with naturally kinky hair. Have you seen Hawaiians? Fijans?"
Because this thread revolves around a black woman, or half black as some have said but I can't prove that.

#22 - "Why on God’s green earth would you dumb ass fucks assume black girls straighten their hair to look white???"
I am not sure if you were referring to me but I guess this is the core of the problem, I said "European", but since people see things in black and white they automatically assume I am saying black women want to be white.

Missy was the only one who actually answered my question in a logical way without making an assumption about where I was coming from.

If anyone misinterpreted what I said I am sorry, it seems if I used the word Asians instead of European none of this would have been necessary and so many assumptions about me wouldn't have been made. if you want to lump me into the same category as the racist Wiseman and Allah that is your choice. It's all about perception.

Here is another question, why do Japanese artists make their eyes huge in cartoons when in reality they are no where near that big. Is that a racist question, I am sure someone will find a way to make it.

Friday, December 8th, 2006 @ 11:43am

And another thing number 11 you can't say "sorry in advance" then make unfounded insults based on your assumptions like "narrow-minded, egotistical, and yes, racist", and expect the sorry in advance to mean squat.

Here I will give you an example.

Sorry for what I am about to say Harajuku but I think you are a fucking waste of life for ASSuming those things without justification and for making whole statements that NEVER came out of my mouth, like "And since when did all black women have fake hair?", I NEVER made that statement but you pretended I did so you would sound justified in your insults.

Does the sorry make any difference? I think not.

Saturday, December 9th, 2006 @ 12:58am

Caliban isn't racist. He's defended black women on this site.

Saturday, December 9th, 2006 @ 1:14am

Saturday, December 9th, 2006 @ 7:21pm

OMG why is everyone going on about black this white that, gosh don't you think their is enough racism in the world already, black peopel prefer black skin white people prefer white skin *i think* but does it matter ???? Rihanna is not trying to be white just because shes starightened here hair who the F came up with that it is the stupidest thing i've heard all year. Someone was going on about black women having enourmous asses, well firstly since when has a big ass been a bad thing and secondly i am White and i've been told i've got a black womans ass by many people and i am PROUD !! lol you don't have to be black to have an ass lol. And since when does a white woman getting a tan mean she is trying to be black, ususally white women do this to make them look like they have been on holiday somewhere nice.
Please end the whole race thing its not doing any good for anyone !!

I'm actually doing a mini pod on the subject of black hair. I've always grown up knowing the girl with the "Good" hair around the way. She's the mixed chick with the soft, silky looking long hair, and then there was the "Bad" hair, the kinkier, tightly coiled hair. The real question is, why is there even such a term in the African American vocabulary?

A look back in history will show you that slaves that were born to white masters seemed to have been favored, the "house nigga's", because of their closer resemblance to whites. The lighter and softer your hair, the better you were treated. It's no suprise that this Southern mentality would find it's way into African American culture today. And it also doesn't help when the images plastered all over the runways and magazines only read one way. Alek Wek? She's considered exotic...like a giraffe by most white and to blacks...just bald headed. You can thank Madam CJ Walker for her contribution to the straightening of black hair and especially Garrett A. Morgan for bringing us the Relaxer.

In the 20's and then the 60 and 70's there was a call to all Afro Americans to return to their heritage and where afros as a rejection to Eurocentric visual conception and to promote the idea that beauty comes in all forms.

Honestly, don't think it's about looking black or white. I have what one would call nappy hair and I have done the natural thing, wearing fros, twists, dreds and everything. Recently I permed my hair again, because quite frankly, it's just easier. When I straightened it, I didn't have in mind that I'd finally be able to look like Giselle. I thought finally, I can flip in a pony tail and run out of my house. Straight hair is in...even for White women.

In other news--- I liked the other blue dress better. The hair is a bit Morticia-ish, but she looks so beautiful, it's almost seems unobtainable. I give up. I'm sorry Beyonce, I'll always love you more, but I've fallen for this chick.
And- I can't lie- I'd rather have her body! (Even though Beyonce's is nice too).

Somebody's using my name again(dirtygirl stop), I wasn't trying to be offensive. Moe check the IP.

BTW-Europeans aren't the only race with straight hair. Native Americans, Asians, Hispanics...!?!

I'm done ranting and sorry for the double post. But your "point" is just moot.
