I'm not a fan but i have to say that i like her music. My favorite artist is Aretha Franklin, and she's fat, who can deny her skills? You can say you don't like her, but deny a talent? As a Mariah fan I must come to her defense:

1.- You should not make fun of her obesity. This is a serious disease that can cause death. A severe excess of body fat is no laughing matter.

2.- Mental retardation is not to be laughed at. A lot of celebrities (I am tempted to say all) suffer from this debilitating condition. Jorge W. Bush and Wynona Rider are especially severe cases but the most severe is probably Mariah’s ex-boyfriend Luis Miguel (he was molested as a child by his “uncle” Mexico’s city ex-chief of police which might have cognitively damaged him).

3.- Fake abs are EVERYWERE, models use them, bodybuilders use them and especially celebrities (you should sometimes see the real photos of celebrities at the beach that some tabloids publish). If you ever develop abs you will find out that no mater how little body fat you have and how big your abs are, water will prevent them to look like the retouched (electronically enhanced, body painted, etc.) abs of models. This is why bodybuilders use diuretics to severely dehydrate themselves in order for their abs to look impressive (AND they also paint them to make them look deeper, getting shade differences in a tan also helps). It is about time that people learn that the whole entertainment industry is about fantasy, not reality (everything is fake, especially now that electronic techniques are well developed).

4.- Celebrities are made by their contacts. The very same “uncle” that sexually molested Luis Miguel introduced him (no pun intended) to Televisa’s owner and he made him a celebrity, for example. Celebrities never deserve it, the contacts always makes them (that horrific anorexic blond that likes to post pornographic films of herself for publicity is an extreme example). Mariah does not need to deserve anything, no one in her business does!.

5.- Lip-syncing instead of singing is pervasive in the industry and should not be frowned upon (remember, EVERYTHING IN THIS BUSINESS IS FAKE, INCLUDING THE VOICES! – if you do not believe this visit a recording studio one day, they will make you sound like Luciano Pavarotti even if you have the voice of Mike Tyson).

6.- Being selfish is the natural result of so much (undeserved) adulation. A celebrity is a “living brand”. Symbolically they are not people but the product of branding (and are branding incarnated themselves). This is why when you meet them in person you are always shocked at how short they are (you would cry If you would meet –as I have—Brad Pit in person, he is practically a dwarf, even wrestlers add at least fifty pounds to their supposed weights and at least five inches to their supposed heights), how insignificant they look in person, how unintelligent they are in general, how vulgar, uninterested in things that matter, etc. they almost always are.

7.- If you believe their “love interests” are something separated from their publicity stunts (always remember they are brands) then you will not understand why they marry and divorce so much (remember, EVERYTHING IS FAKE).

8.- In the end you should forget about them (they are nothing more than products for mass media consumption, NEVER REAL PEOPLE) and live your own life. Remember: the more you think of them (and they like and live from this) the less you will take care of yourself, never compare yourself to them as they are imaginary, develop your body, intelligence, career, etc. and forget about stupidizing fantasies.
