Maybe, just maybe she adopts children from third world countries because it's a billion times worse to be an orphan from Cambodia/Vietnam/etc than an orphan in the US. And, the professionals don't seem to be getting much done (note: FEMA, Darfur) so it's ok if she wants to play Mother Theresa. At least she's taking some sort of action, which is more than most people can claim.

When people adopt kids they're not supposed to be going after a certain one just because of how it looks or where it's from. That's just like picking out a toy. And the "balancing out the races" thing she said is retarded too. Just love your kids, don't fucking put an emphasis on their race or else you're just creating problems for yourself and your family.

I do admire her work because no matter what her intentions are, at least she is helping. But I do think she is ignorant. The comments she sometimes makes are just ridiculous. Especially when she said that she feels more inclined towards her adopted kids because they come from bad backgrounds yet Shiloh was BORN privileged. WTF? There's one thing I know (and makes me like Jolie for adopting kids from very poor countries): Zahara comes from Ethiopia. There, like in many sub-saharan countries, they perform the hideous, disgusting infibulation (cut the little girl's genitals*). Just thinking she helped a child escaping from that makes me admire her.

it's long and ardous process to adopt overseas, but it's even longer and harder in the States.(unless you're related) Adopting is a tough journey, no matter what your circumstances...these people are really brave, seriously. It's fantastic to see them so secure with it. They represent.
