i am not sure if its fair to compare these 2 photoshoots.
i mean the style that they used for adriana is an exotic one. for gisele is a casual one.
it would be more fair if the style of both photoshots was exotic or casual.

The cover says-"Proof Tom Brady is the luckiest man on earth". The magazine covers are always saying something crazy like that.
They both look good each in its own way. Adriana has a curvier body and Gisele has longer legs (because she's taller).
I think both photos look awkward. Models are always in strange poses so that's not unusual.

yea, Gisele is an inch taller. Doesn't necessarily mean she has longer legs. Adriana has a short torso after all. Gisele's legs might be longer by half an inch (that's hardly anything) or they might not be longer at all. Peace.

Normally I would say Adriana Lima, But I voted for Gisele here. I honestly like Gisele's photoshoot more, Its a little more interesting and sexy than Adriana's. Also, These aren't Adriana's best photos, I don't know what it is but she doesn't look good here- The hair looks greasy and flat, the face looks bloated, her eyes look extra small, and she just looks bored and/or constipated. It doesn't look like she got very into the photoshoot, she didn't give it her "all". The only photo of Adriana's that I like from this photoshoot is the one on page 6.
Adriana Lima is 1000 times prettier and sexier than Gisele but I gotta hand this matchup to Gisele. She looks beautiful, sexy, and I love the pictures.

Actually Adriana's photo shoot is a lot more artistic. Look at the props the photographers used. Look how they used that net to cast shadows across her face on page 3. Look how the photographers on page 5 used the waves to create a dynamic shot; it looks almost as if she's embracing the water. Look how they used nature as clothing on page 2. Look how they used that palm leaf to build the pose around a center line while at the same time covering her up on page 6.
Gisele's shoot is mostly just Gisele sitting in a room doing various static poses and there's not a lot of creativity going on.
You're a fucking dumbass if you think something is less high fashion just because it's shot on a beach. Adriana's shoot was shot by two high fashion photographers who usually work for VOGUE.
And since you haven't worked with either model, you have no basis for assuming that Gisele's modeling ability is so vastly superior to Adriana's. There's basically nothing Gisele can do within the field of modeling that Adriana can't also do. It's not fucking rocket science. Both models are hugely experienced and have tried a bit of everything. At the end of the day the models are just props for the photographers to use. They're just trying to do whatever the photographer wants them to do.

I disagree, I know a number of people in the industry and they believe Gisele has the most skill. Her shots have a certain charisma that appeals to both sexes far beyond her looks, and are marketable in the widest number of countries compared to other models. The great ones have a special intangible the others don't, and I'm not saying Beanie's not awesome, but she is not as good a model as Gisele. When I saw Daniella her beauty was unreal, everyone in the room, including women stopped in their tracks, made Kate look like an ugly boy, but Kate has something she doesn't when it comes to modeling. And you can talk about the fags controlling fashion, but they don't go and buy the merchandise, or the mags, Gisele sells, period.

I'm not allergic to the idea of Gisele having the most "skill" (seems almost laughable to talk about skill in this context), it was the number of >'s I reacted against.

Britney Spears sells much more magazines than Gisele, doesn't mean Britney Spears is the best model. Gisele has more name power because the (gay) fashion industry has been promoting her like crazy for years. The fact that Gisele sells more magazines than Adriana Lima has something to do with the fact that she gets plastered on a whole lot more magazines.
Adriana is more popular with the general public than Gisele is. Adriana has more hits on Google (6,470,000 vs. 5.520.000). Also look at Google Trends,

Adriana's GQ 2006 magazine was the highest selling issue that year and and Forbes wrote about her 2008 issue that it "drew a record number of hits to its Web site". Adriana's superbowl commercial this year was also the most watched of all the superbowl commercials this year (more than 107 million viewers), I can supply source if you like. So Adriana obviously has a lot of appeal to the general public despite her name not being nearly as recognizable as Gisele's.
Both models are past their primes though.

Adriana never got down by any agency. Gisele got turned down by every single agency because she was ugly...they told her the only job she could do was anwer the phones at the office...then BAM...almost overnight, she got famous after she got some work done on her nose and got a pair of tits....I have no doubt she slept her way to the top...she seems to call it being ambitious...even John Casablance confirmed it. now that she is big, people are just buying the hype. That is all there is to it...people say she can sell anything because she is working with big names already. Yeah, I am sure Versace and all the other big name crap designers she was modeling for were suffering before they hired Gisele as their model. The same thing with Kate Moss, as well.

It's like the people were psychic and knew she was in the commercial before the commercial came on. (No, they all didn't read the blogs either).
So Gisele had a tough time getting big and had her nose done....big deal.
Adriana is damn lucky VS took her. She is gorgeous but can't model or speak very well. She might not have even got Maybelline or TIM if it wasn't for VS. Plus, why would you come out for GQ and admit you are a virgin, if it wasn't to get your name known?
If it was really all about trying to get women to save themselves, she would have done it in Vogue, Elle, or Teen Vogue.
She choose GQ because it is a large global men's magazine and wanted the PR, attention, and her name to be bigger among men.

Of course the timing had something to do with it, but many people switch channels during commercials unless something catches their attention. The fact that VS chose Adriana for the commercial and not some of the other angels says something in my opinion.
It was not something she decided to do. It was a result of the interviewer's questions. If the interviewer in some other magazine had asked about her religious convictions and thoughts on sex before marriage, she would have probably answered the same. It was not like Adriana came out to make an announcement. She was just answering questions.
Gisele is good at business. Maybe. Or maybe she's just lucky she's getting the right offers all the time because she's so "in demand". Look at Kate Moss. She was smoking crack and partying constantly and still she was earning more than most other top models. It wasn't because she was a super business mind, the fashion industry just loved her. All Kate had to do was pick up the phone. It's not like Gisele has done anything particular "entrepreneurial" like Tyra or Heidi. But I don't fucking come to Bastardly to judge business skills.
I like Adriana's modeling better than Gisele's. I also think she has a better VS runway reel, a better VS commercial reel and a better VS picture portfolio than Gisele. Adriana is likable and gorgeous. Gisele is neither. I would never be a "fan" of a model if I didn't find the model to be likable and gorgeous. Fuck business skills in this context. It's completely irrelevant.

Yes, I agree that Adriana is better looking and has the best face and is more likable on an appeal basis.
But Gisele is smarter, has a better walk, knows how to pose, knows how to run a business, make smart business decisions and network.
Adriana relies on her looks ALONE.(she couldn't rub her 2 IQ points together to start a fire) That is all she has.
It just reminds me of the stereotypical high school setup of a pretty girl who is the smart one and the gorgeous prom queen in high school.
The gorgeous prom queen is gorgeous, the most popular, and is most likable.
