Pharrell Williams Ditches His Converse Chucks For Vans!!

Photo Credit: Splash NewsThese were snapped in Manchester, UK where Pharrell was perfroming at the Manchester Academy (anyone check it out, by chance?). During his stay, he also hit up the fashion store 'Life' where he kicked-off the winter collection of his Billionaire Boys Club / Ice Cream fashion range.
As some of you might remember, earlier this summer Pharrell produced a music video for Converse, in which he also performed with his band N.E.R.D. alongside Julian Casablancas of The Strokes & Santogold. You'd figure his feet would be decked with Chucks at least until the end of summer, but that's obviously not the case.

I've done shows at Manchester Academy. It's right on the campus there. It's an ok sounding venue. Easy load-in access. I think it holds around 1700-2000 people if memory serves me correct. I'm actually surprised he played that small of a venue. Then again the next size larger venue in Manchester might be 8000-10000 capacity, so it is better to have a sold out show in a smaller venue with a hoard outside trying to get tickets out of scalpers than playing a half filled room with inflated production costs.

I hate hitting up huge venues, so from a consumer standpoint, smaller is always better.

yeah he must like the small venues. i saw him in 06 at the Birmingham Academy at the capacity was around 1500-2000 too. he put on a damn good show though.
