I was surprised when I first saw a picture of his girl friend as, with his money, he could have bought anybody he wanted to. The first thing I noticed on the close ups of Beth were The Joker mouth and wolf eyes and she's too thin and round-shouldered and surprisingly, she doesn't hold herself well considering she's a model. I think he saw long blond hair on someone much younger than himself and thought that would add to his stature.

Had he dated longer, he'd have seen there were many more truly beautiful women around with much more going for them. Howard just fell into the trap that many aging men do and now his next mistake will be having children putting his three daughters in the position of having to share the loot when the Brinks truck shows up on his death. The daughters from his first marriage will have to share that half billion not only with Beth but with whatever progeny she and Howard produce.

I can see as time goes by, Howard's going to feel trapped with no one to talk to and share any real conversation with as he was able to do with Alison who was an educated woman.

I agree with Alec's comments on her looks and the cast's paid admiration of Beth.
