Her friend is a potential hottie. Probably hotter than Vanessa. She wanted her friend to look regular, so she had her wear flip-flops and no make-up, while she wears high heels and caked-on makeup.

I agree with you. She won't be her friend any longer once Vanessa and/or her people see that their dirty trick failed to throw us off the scent here. They need to find someone so ugly that we are blinded by the ugliness before this ploy will work.
