I never understood the point of the fantasy bra.
For all the good it might do taking my McGuppies from "perfect" to "preternatural," I can't wear that fucker under anything to showcase them. What if my fantasy is stopping a room with killer cleavage perfectly framed by the most unassuming of dresses?

I keep up with the fantasy bras, but this year, the bra was rather cheap. The 2007 bra was the cheapest but the 2008 is pretty cheap too. Most bras start at around 6 million. In 2005, the fantasy bra was 12.5 million USD and was worn by supermodel Gisele Bundchen!!!
2008 bra = 5 million
2007 bra = 4.5 million
2006 bra = 6.5 million
2005 bra = 12.5 million
2004 bra = 10 million (They had a bra, but no show)
2003 bra = 11 million
2002 bra = 10 million
2001 bra = 12 million(with matching thong add 750,000)
2000 bra = 6.5 million
It would seem Victoria's Secret is getting cheap not only with fantasy bras, but most of its products.

Economic turndown. Companies are going out of business these days and VS still spent an additional half million on a bra compared to last year.
My favorite show is 2005, not because of the expensive bra but because it was the best show and Adriana completely stole it that year. 2003 is probably my second favorite.

I highly doubt economics has anything to do with the price tag of the bra. Around 2004-2005, Victoria's Secret was experiencing very serious money problems. Plus, the 2004 and 2005 bras were some of the most expensive to date. So, Victoria's Secret and the country's economics are not to blame but rather Victoria's Secret decision on how much to spend and where to spend it. Victoria's Secret is said to make about 6-7 billion USD a year, more than enough for a fantasy bra.

Yes, 2005 was not a great year for VS. If you read the year-end report for 2005, it even says:
"Dear Partner. As I look back on our results for 2005, I'm not pleased. In this business, in any business in fact, we create our opportunities. No excuses. The fantasy bra is mostly a publicity stunt anyway and let's not forget that Adriana also got her own commercial during Superbowl this year (an advertising spot during superbowl alone costs millions, not to mention production costs of the commercial itself). She's gotten her worth this year. It was only a bonus that the commercial became the most watched in history with 103.7 million viewers (according to Limited Brands 2007 report).

Yes, but the bra for 2005 was commissioned long before the poor year-end results for 2005 was confirmed (2004 was not a bad year for VS). But like I said, I was playing the devil's advocate so no reason for us to keep treading waters on a matter as intangible as this one.
I live in Europe and no, I've never attended the superbowl or any sporting event in America for that matter. It was said tongue-in-cheek anyway. I don't even know if Gisele was at the stadium and honestly I don't give a rat's ass.

Yes, you are wrong again and I was excited. I used exclamation marks because that was the most expensive bra to date. Plus, the show in 2005 was my all time favorite of the Victoria's Secret shows. I do not have a favorite model; I have favorite model body parts. Mostly because I view no model entirely perfect, although some do have perfect parts.

Adriana Lima got the fantasy bra at the perfect time. This has been such a good year for her. She more than deserved it. She looks incredible in these pictures, absolutely stunning. People say she is looking heavier in the face, but I disagree, Her cheeks do look more full and that adds to the picture. Anyone can see that she has never been happier. In love and engaged, Adriana is beaming whenever you see her and that is evident in each of these pictures. You can see it in her eyes. She has never looked more beautiful. My girlfriend and I are so excited for Adri.
